Our Lead and Director of Psychology and Mental Health in organizations, Prof. Geoffrey Wango, OGW is an Assistant Professor in Counselling Psychology, Department of Psychology, University of Nairobi. Prof. Wango conducts research in Counselling Psychology, Applied Psychology, Educational Psychology, and Educational Policy Development and specialises in ‘Counselling Psychology in the Developing World. His areas of interest are Workplace Counselling, Stress and Stress Management, Retirement preparedness from Formal Employment, Alcohol and Drug Abuse, Mental Health and Healthy Living.

Prof. Wango is a well-known author with over 150 publications in diverse forums. They include 31 Journal articles and 7 published Textbooks, Conferences, Periodicals, and Symposiums; and, over 300 mentions in varied publications. Prof Wango was awarded a National Award and Honours of the Order of the Grand Warrior (OGW) of Kenya on 12th December 2022 for promoting psychological and mental health and healthy living by the President of Kenya Hon. William Ruto.

A graduate of Kenyatta University Master of Arts in Linguistics and University of Birmingham Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Counselling, Prof. Wango core competencies are in leadership, research and communication. He has written and published a critical journal on Improving Access and Effectiveness of Psychological Interventions for Common Mental Health Problems in Kenya.
